Hi, name is Megan.
Like most teenage girls in 2016, when I turned 13 I picked up the ukulele. I fell in love with the tiny $20 instrument, and quickly began playing for the grand audience of my Dad on the front porch of my house.
As of today, I haven't picked up my ukulele in years, electing to play the guitar instead. I've also moved on to (slightly) grander audiences, playing and singing at restaurants in my small beach town. However, my favorite audiences are my friends at school, and my family, when I play my guitar in our tiny living room, and we sing everything from Noah Kahan to Fleetwood Mac to Hozier.
My new song Distance is inspired by the feeling of longing that inevitably arises when you've moved far away from home. Even when you love where you are, you can't help but mourn what you've lost.
Give it a listen. I hope you enjoy.
